Design The iQOO 7 has a polycarbonate back with a matte finish. The sides are curved which improves the grip while holding the phone and all the buttons are located at one side. It also feels relatively light as it weighs 193 grams.
Display The device has a 6.7" FHD+ 120Hz OLED display. It is an HDR10 certified panel that offers a peak brightness of 1300 nits. The touch sampling rate of the panel is 300Hz which is an added benefit for gamers.
Rear camera For optics, the device has a 64MP+2MP+2MP triple camera setup. In daylight conditions the camera churns out detailed shots rich in dynamic range and vibrant colours. Low-light shots are respectable, however, the camera does overexpose the scene.
Front Camera The iQOO Neo 7 has a 16MP front camera. The selfies it produces have excellent details and the camera also nails the skin tones.
Hardware The iQOO Neo 7 is the first device in India to sport MediaTek's Dimensity 8200 SoC paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB UFS 3.1 storage. Since the device is aimed at gamers, it has a vapour chamber & graphite 3D cooling systems in place for a lag-free experience. The overall experience of playing demanding titles is enjoyable.
Software Coming to software, the iQOO Neo 7 runs on FunTouchOS 13 based on Android 13. The interface has good animations alongside theme customisations. There is also a game sidebar that offers several game metrics. The only complaint is the bloatware, which, if reduced, FunTouchOS provides a solid experience.
Battery If you game for a couple of hours daily, the 5,000mAh battery of the iQOO Neo 7 will drain by evening. However, if you do not put much load on it, the device will still have 40% remaining by the end of the day.
Charging speed The device is targeted at gamers and boasts about speed and efficiency. And it does not disappoint with its charging speeds, too. It has a 120W charging adaptor bundled in the box that can charge the device at lightning fast speeds.
Verdict The iQOO Neo7 is a performance-oriented device that will enhance your mobile gaming experience. The captivating display is yet another selling point. The design is very basic and a telephoto or ultra-wide shooter would be better fit. However, for its target audience (Gamers), the iQOO Neo7 has all the right ingredients.
